My goal is to help individuals of all ages--and all ability levels--live their lives with optimal ease, comfort and health.
I have been practicing yoga for over 30 years.
I began taking yoga classes in the evenings, while pursuing a career as a specialist in Japanese Art. Eventually, I left my career to raise my three children, concentrating much of my free time on yoga. In 2012, after studying Astanga, Iyengar and Vinyasa yoga in New York City, Warsaw, and Paris, I received my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training Certificate from Yoga Haven, in Tuckahoe, NY.
My instruction reflects the variety of yoga styles that I have practiced, and incorporates the muscle balancing and alignment methods of Integrated Positional Therapy (IPT), taught by noted yoga teacher and massage therapist, Lee Albert. In 2019 I was certified in IPT Levels I and II at the Kripalu Institute,
in Lenox, MA.
While I began teaching adult classes in 2012, I also continued to teach my very first yoga student: my autistic son. Over the years, I have seen his flexibility, strength, alignment, self-control, coordination and capacity to be "present" improve on and off the mat through yoga. I have learned so much by teaching him. It really made me realize the profound difference that yoga can make in everyone's life.
One-on-one instruction is available within the lower Westchester, NY area for $125 - $150 per hour, depending upon location. Please contact me for rates for small group classes.
